Blanket Ban Is Not Unfair

Is it so hard to understand what the Government is trying to do? All it wants to do is to prevent future tragedies from happening. But the developers are trying to convince the goverment that there is nothing to worry if they (the developers) strictly adhere to the guidelines for hill developments. I'm quite amused when they want to compare their hillslope development with that of Genting Highlands. Genting Highlands is a gaming resort well known globally. They cannot afford to make a mistake. I'm sure they invested a lot just to make the mountain stable. Can you imagine how many people, how many cars go up there practically twenty four hours a day, three hundred sixty five days a year? Imagine how much weight the mountain supports. And let us not forget the thousands of houses, the condos, the high rise hotels. Their water and sewerage system are also taken into account.

So hillslope developers please do not compare youself with GH. You derive your profits from only a certain class of people whereas GH makes profit from all over the world, from all walks of life. So wake up developers. I pray the goverment will wake up too. Be firm in your decision. No two ways about it or you might hear people say,"Got money beres."
