Honk If You Want RM5,000.00

Who is the smart bonehead who suggested to give that amount to anybody who discard their vehicles of more than fifteen years? This bonehead must be nuts. What is he driving at? And Proton is the first to be in the driving seat! Is Proton all geared up for this?

If anyone who owns and drive a vehicle of more than fifteen years I can come up with only two reasons. Reason one: The vehicle is for sentimental reason. Reason two: Simply cannot afford a new vehicle. Sorry no offence meant. To trade in your 'boneshaker' one must be prepare to fork out a substantial amount of money. The prompt payment for monthly installments, fuel and the periodical maintenance. All these would take a toll on one's finance. Times are hard these days and one needs to tighten one's belt. You have to be committed.

People who owned these 'boneshakers' are literally the old folks, the retirees and the pensioners. It is just a transport from place A to place B. Sending their grandchildren to school. Goes marketing with the wife and drop by their favourite coffee shop for a sip.

This suggestion would not work. It's not that simple! If and when recession sets in, people are more concern over their livelihoods rather than thinking of changing their cars.
