Better play safe! Do not board the express or tour buses during this coming festive season!
If we have muddle-headed halfwits in the Transport Ministry and the Road Transport Department (RTD), honestly, I do fear for the passengers’ safety!
If we have officers from RTD going undercover “posing or pretending” to be passengers (which in actual fact, everyone on board a bus IS A PASSENGER). Silly me!
The enforcement officers will be “observing and recording” traffic offences committed by the drivers like overtaking on a double line, using a mobile phone while driving, exceeding the speed limit and maybe even lighting a fag. All these offences will be noted down and at the end of the journey the driver will then be hauled up and given the summonses.
See the headline of The Star (Wednesday, 26th January, 2011) and the accompanying picture. Three “happy” people – one smiling, one laughing and one most probably smiling or laughing behind the magazine! He looked highly comical. Seriously this is not a joke!
I’m at a dead end because I really don’t know how the enforcement works! You mean the drivers of the buses would be given a “free reign’ to drive however they want until they reached their “final destination”? What if they never make it to there? What if another mishap occurs along the journey?
This is nothing more than a perfunctory enforcement! RTD, you can do better than that! You’re not restoring but destroying confidence!

Live With It Or Leave It!
It would be a major upset (for the government) if the residents of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) succeeded in making the Land Public Transport Commission (LPTC) “kow tow” (relent) to their demand.
The residents of TTDI claimed that their lives will suffocate if the government go ahead with the proposed mass rapid transport (MRT) system that will eventually cut across their residential area.
Truth is: their dialogue, plea and protest will not be able to carry any weight at all! Whether one likes it or not, the proposed MRT will be built and there’s nothing anyone can do about that!
I don’t wish to press the point, but we all know well enough that the government will be able to provide a “good excuse” why the MRT should not be scrapped. Everything is clear from the very outset! The train will run no matter what!

Switching Sides!
Is it very encouraging (or is it discouraging) when friends blow the whistle on us? Honestly, how will we feel? Of course, we cannot pretend as if nothing has happened.
You can twist my arm and still I will not “switch sides”. After all, only those muddle-headed halfwit politicians do that! Already we have numerous two-faced wakil rakyat within our midst whose “two-dimensional” characters are well known - having length and breadth but no depth! Come GE13, let’s vote wisely! Vote for the 3D kind. Better yet: give it a go at the Tenang by-election.
Whoever we are – try not to lose our amour propre: our own sense of dignity, our self-respect. Whistling on a friend for some monetary gains is akin to stabbing someone in the back. Let’s not be too short-sighted and make short work of our friends.
Friendship under false pretences will not last. Let friendship prevail and who knows one of these days a friend in need is a friend indeed.
